EastDressy is an independent English-language magazine dedicated to Chinese traditional fashion and silk culture. We believe that five thousand years of textile civilization deserves a voice in the global fashion conversation — written for readers everywhere, in language they already speak.

Our Mission

Why EastDressy Exists

For all its richness and depth, Chinese fashion heritage is remarkably underrepresented in English-language media. What does exist is often either oversimplified, exoticized, or buried behind language barriers.

EastDressy was founded to change that. We create well-researched, clearly written, beautifully presented stories about Hanfu, Qipao, and Chinese silk — for a global audience of fashion enthusiasts, cultural explorers, and anyone curious about one of humanity's great sartorial traditions.

We approach our subject with both respect for tradition and an eye for the contemporary. We believe heritage isn't a museum piece — it's a living, breathing culture that evolves with every new person who wears it, every designer who reimagines it, and every reader who discovers it.
